I was so unsure at first as we had just rescued Riker from Finding them homes and he was just getting used to us and us to him, but once I met Mitch and Tracey they made me feel like we were family and that we had nothing to worry about and I didn't.

Stuart Campbell — 5 star. I have an Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler named Reggie who at the time was 8 months old and suffering from some aggression issues. He’s an amazing dog and super smart but had some issues which were causing him to act out aggressively in a lot of scenarios. It came to the point where I had to do something so I did some research on the internet and found Sunnidale. I read about the kennel and had conversations with Mitch. After chatting with them I felt comfortable enough to bring Reggie up the following day.
I arrived at Sunnidale with Reggie and tour of the facility. I know technically it’s a kennel but it’s 100% resort! They have a beautiful facility that’s extremely clean, friendly, comfortable and inviting. You can tell that everyone who works there is very passionate about their job and the animals and they love what they do. Both Mitch and Tracey left their other careers to do this full time which is amazing and clearly they don’t regret the switch. I met Sandra that day as well and you can just tell she knows exactly what she is doing and her positive and energy is just fantastic. I dropped Reggie off for the month-long puppy boarding and training course and could not have left feeling any better and comfortable with him being there.
During his stay I received updates on how he was doing from the folks at Sunnidale. I was not worried in the least and could tell he was getting some amazing TLC.
I was shocked on the day I picked up Reggie. You could just tell there was a change in him. Before, especially with other people, he was on edge all the time. What I saw now was a super happy pup! Before seeing Reggie, they took the time to take me through her assessment and what was up with him. They also took me through what they’d been doing to help him and what I needed to do - because as much as it was just his instinct, he was lacking leadership from me and they was giving me to the tools I needed to do that. They showed me videos of what she had been working on with him and the progress he’s made. They took me through what they have been teaching Reggie with him so that he could make better decisions instead of resorting to aggression and what I should be doing with him. Her assessment of Reggie was bang on and you could tell right away that her methods were working and he was on the right track.
It hasn’t been long since Reggie has been home but he is a different puppy already and is far less aggressive. The training he received and the tools that I have are absolutely working. He still has a way to go but you can just see that he’s calmer and happier.
I would recommend Sunnidale VERY highly for all of your dog needs. No question. I live in Toronto and travel for work and it’s worth the hour drive up there for him to spend time there. They’re amazing people and have a great thing going on.

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. Our pets were cared for and loved as if they were at home. Tracy and Mitch love animals and it shows in every way. Our young English Setter Gauge has stayed at Sunnidale Boarding Kennels 5 times since July of this year. It is a fabulous place! I have never felt so comfortable leaving one of my dogs in a kennel, as I do at Sunnidale Boarding Kennels and I am a worry wart of a mom! The owners and all the staff care for your pets like they are their own. Gauge is also being trained during his stays. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for better obedience or field training. The difference in his behaviour in 3 months is quite amazing as he is a very prey driven hunting dog.
I will be using Sunnidale for years to come and Gauge is coming to know it as his home away from home! Kim and Neal

Dianne-Kevin Nickerson — 5 star We had our little Princess (Lucy) stay with Mitch, Tracey and their staff for 10 days. It was obvious that they spoiled her. This is the first Kennel we have used for one of our dogs in 15 years. We have never felt comfortable leaving our Whippets in any other kennel. We took our Border Collie, Emma, to Sunnidale for the first time in mid-September. We found the staff to be very friendly. The facility was clean, and the individual rooms suited Emma, who tends to be shy. The runs are enclosed and covered, protecting the dogs from the elements. We would definitely take Emma for a return visit next time we have to board her.

We boarded our dogs for the weekend and Sunnidale Kennels seemed to do a great job caring for them. They accommodated our request for a single room so that both dogs could be together. The walks were appreciated, as Bear is quite energetic and loves to explore. The place seemed very clean and well kept. I think we may have found our new boarding place when the dogs need a place to go :)

I am a fearful dog, I am shy and afraid of new people, so I will more than likely bark at you until I get used to you, and until you get to know me. (treats usually speed up this process!) So, just ignore me until I approach you once I trust you. (I was abused in my former life, and have never quite gotten over it)
I also cannot be allowed to play with other dogs, so I must always be kept alone. In other words, I cannot be let into direct contact with another dog, I was attacked by a dog once, and this too, has left me very defensive. Also, probably a good idea not to put me next to an aggressive dog.
My mom calls me a “runner”. She said that under no circumstances am I ever to be allowed off leash outside a building. I will see something and take off on you!! (she used to find me in the neighbours yard until Dad built my fence higher so I could not get out!
I am only allowed 1 or 2 “toothbrush” treats per day, no matter how much I may tell you differently! For the first while, I can have many treats until we become good friends,but after that, my parents will ask you to cut them back. (apparently I put on few pounds last year!)
I love pumpkin in my food! One good spoonful mixed in my kibble is super yummy! It just needs to be kept in the fridge though, and I also get 3 squirts of some brown stuff once a day on my food, which my dad says is to help me jump up on the bed better!
I will groom myself on the fence in the kennel run. Do not be alarmed at the amount of fur I will leave behind, I have lots!
I will also bring all my stuffies out into the run to show everyone!
I think we will be great friends, I love coming here!
